Speaking Out Loud

I have something to say.

In fact,

I have many things to say.

And it all builds up

Words upon words upon words upon words

They pile on top of each other

Fighting, warring, against one another

Desperate to be the first one out.

Desperate to be the first one free.

My heart pounds in my ribcage

Working overtime,

Doing double shift.

I have something to say

                                    Say it.

My hands are ice.

My hands are frozen.

My hands are fire.

I have something to say

                                    Say it.

I take a deep breath

I slowly, softly, let it out

I try to calm down

I have something to say

                                    Say it.

                                    Just say it.

I take a deep breath

It comes out fast with disappointment.

I can’t do it

I have something to say.

I need to let it out.

I have to let it out.

I want to let it out.

I take a deep breath.

I want to let it out.

I need to let it out.

I am going to let it out.

I raise my hand.

“I have something to say.”
