Special Goodbye

I met you for a reason.

I know you do not see this but it is true.

It is proven in my mind, this theory.

I met you so you can leave me.

Your time was limited and this was known from the begining.

You were leaving and it never occured to me your lesson.

I was so used to people leaving for no reason.

To walk out on me with no words left;

Just the deafening silence of solitary.

I was used to the carelessness of others,

And the disregard of my feelings.

But you knew you had to go.

I knew you had to go.

In such a short time I grew comfortable around you.

And you, the same.

I saw it in your eyes;

The relaxation to be yourself without judgment.

The foolish little boy who came out that was always inside of you.

I never thought I would like blue eyes again until I met you.

The crinkle of your face as you laugh at my moronic jokes

Is how I will rememeber you.

You truely are one of a kind.

I will never admit to it, especially to your face,

But you mean so much to me.

Simply because you taught me how to say goodbye.

I said goodbye to you in a healthy way.

The lesson was learning to say goodbye.
