Speech Impediment

Location

A cacophony of voices
Shouting, begging to be heard
A girl adds hers to the jumble
But her voice is broken, weak, scarred
Damaged.

Heedlessly, she speaks louder, faster
But her speech makes no sense
People give her weird looks
Treat her as if she's stupid
She cries.

One day she picks up a pen
The words flow out perfectly
She can express herself clearly
And no one looks at her weirdly anymore
So she writes.
