Sphinx

I’m not good company, If I could speak, I’d sound as though I have a cold. I wish he was bold enough to ask a limestone statue how his day is going, Or how the pyramids were really built, or at least think out loud. It was different before... Before, My nose was pointed, My complexion wasn’t aged by the sands of time, Life around me, Moved around me, My legs were of those who paraded around me, But they left, And all that’s left is this man, Sitting barefoot under a blistering sun, Pondering my riddle I can only assume.
