A Spider in Silk Clothing

Eyes of the beholder, eyes that behold a story

of fashion and fame untold

Arachne, a model, presented with flare to the crowds which applauded her seasonal wear.

Dyed wools and satin silks, creamy beiges and solid reds, all materials were mastered.

Jealousy, a mistress cunning and cruel, came a trotting to the shallow pool.

Athena, goddess of strategy and whit set her eyes on this literal stick; a wager, a bet, a stake or risk to see who was better with a blanket stitch

Snip one, snip two along the tatters as a bond was made and the seams were altered

As time slowed and hands flew, they came together to create literal art

Eyes fall to the dresses few as shock and horror arose, Arachne’s piece was “A Godly Family: Exposed"

Obsession, desire and insatiable lust caused Athena to literally burst.

Cursing the young Spindler to a life unknown, a spider on the wall of bigger stars.

Understand what you may and be weary of hubris as this can lead to a loss of one’s common sense.

As Arachne may now toil upon her web, her dreads due rot for they are never dead.
