The Spirits Roam
Show me,
Show me where dreams go to live and die.
Show me where love is born,
And taken.
Show me the spirit,
That walks the earth in search for something.
Show me the place where the spirit died,
Where he met his first love,
Where he lived during his childhood.
He takes on the shape of a lost child,
Wandering the cold world,
Wondering where his mama went.
He searches for the toy he loved all his life,
The toy that made him feel,
Human.
The old man,
Who waits by and watches the boy go,
He is too the spirit,
Of another life,
But what he searches is a gaze.
To gaze upon the woman that stayed with him until death.
Spirits have lives all their own,
When we feel their presence,
We get chills as if they have come to torture us.
They only wish to find the thing,
The thing that held them to our world,
The thing that is shared.
When the spirits walk, it is a hard road.
A road that no one knows,
The road that makes them desperate.
When the night is over,
They must sleep,
Retreating back to their underground homes,
To search another day.
The boy has found his toy,
A stuffed bear,
Missing an eye an ear and a leg.
But it is not what the bear looks like,
It’s what he shared with it.
The old man,
He has seen his wife,
Although she is old and weak,
He waits by her side,
To greet his love,
And slumber together.
But there is one spirit,
He never leaves,
He never can.
He hunts for the one thing,
That will never come true.
The only thing he can do with his time,
Is take those who did not find their thing,
Into the world that awaits all,
The world that makes,
The final goodbye.
