Spiritual Growth

Times leave us so low

I fear for what tomorrow brings

I pray for spirit to within grow

my heart opens, my soul sings

Need we completely stop

         We are addicted to move

hopes like leaves do drop

         pray for God to approve

throw out all that hinders

         be grateful for the good

leave the desert, climb the mount

         serenity will be likelihood

I am a retired high school and college professor. The last 10 years of my teaching was as a college professor of literature and writing. I have self-published one book of prayers and meditations and am preparing another book of poetic odes to faith and love. I am truly honored to be welcomed into this group.
