Spiritual life

John 6:63

63 The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help! The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

Spiritual life

No spiritual life is set aside

for what is spiritual work.

Spiritual work just expresses

a spiritual life with wings.

God’s purpose of it all

is to fill a temple vessel

as a spiritual reservoir

so all mankind can sing.

A spiritual life flows to others

a never-ending stream.

The spring of its origination

is one that has always been.

A sip from it brings blessings

like love and peace and calm,

when storms of life are raging

an ever healing balm, a dream.

The kingdom of God suffers

at the hands of the believers

who think themselves spiritual

and tend only to own needs.

In their prayer and bible study

and even in their service

all seems done for self

while wishing others God’s speed.
