Spite and Hate

These happy days are shrouded in ashes From the burning of spite and hate And as my heart is pounding The off-beats of normality I see there is no more time And my blood sets off the cataclysmic events Aching to reach the catacombs of night Erasing all you ever meant You left me to my own devices You picked the scab of the city But they're only coming after me I trusted my soul to thee And you broke the diamonds guarding my mind I see there is no more time As the demons pick the lock You forgot to close the gate And now I'm burning in a cloud of spite and hate So I heard they lit the stage To engulf you in venomous glory So I heard you hit the age To over-exaggerate your own story This is a distraction for your years Because as soon as I start to explain You'll clamp your hands over your ears And refuse to hear a thing Burn my logic with spite and hate Because you're a hopeless liar We were only a lifetime too late Now we burn in the fire
