Split
The earth is split in half,
Like a cracked open nut.
It still spins and provides for us,
But connections within have been cut.
On one side, there's the privileged.
With not a care in the world, they laugh.
But hardworking, sad people with unfair lives
Exist on the other half.
These two worlds, these two types of people,
They exist separately.
Only a brave few communicate
With the other half, respectfully.
For, in between the halves lie
An unnecessary hatred,
Fueled by jealousy and misunderstanding.
We forget how equally we were created.
I wish to change the hostility
Between the two types of human
Sure, they have their differences,
But we're all the same within.
I want to bridge the gap
And rid the world of ignorance,
So we can all help each other,
Showing off the world's brilliance.
Together, we are wonderful.
So we must not stand apart.
Let's link arms and be kind,
Guided by our heart.
