Split Second (sequel to Run)

For one split second

For the first time since that day

I see you

Your eyes meet mine

For one split second

I feel I shouldn’t have ran

I should have heard your explanations

Should have waited a little longer to see you try to make it right

You walk to me

For one split second

I wish I still loved you

Wish that I could touch you

Hug you

Say my sorry’s

I turn away

The second is over

Now you run

Now I walk to my class

Which is now closer than I remember

I enter leaving you out in the hall

I don’t look at you

That second is over

And I pray it won’t ever come back
