Spoils of War

Take me to a place where I wont know this pain Everywhere I turn I see your face Laughing at my naivete I laid it all at your feet Just for you to sting me with betrayal Before you, I didnt think I could love again I was numb from a world that has past I thought I could start a new one with you I thought this would be the one to stand the tests of time But as time went on you waved your red flags High and proud, spitting on everything we built Tearing it down with your bare hands Watching as the light in my eyes dimmed a little more each time I gave you too much of me and you used it against me So is it my fault or yours that I cant feel a thing anymore? Who bares the title of winning this war?
