The Spotlight
The crowd rose in applause,
I just finished my story
About the glory in victory.
I took a pause
To savour the flash lights
Gushed from all directions
I was in the spotlight
My white tuxedo was glowing in reflections
I then closed the stage with bow
In the front row stood my pals
Wearing big smiles
For our storm was over
We leapt our miles
I could also see my spouse
Blowing a kiss
Which I swallowed with bliss
She looked magnificent in a chic blouse
Beside her stood my son Mortdecai
Flashing a placard written 'Keep Stretching'
My phenomenon of stitching setbacks
To extract a teaching
In him I see more than a guy
I thrust my fist high in exit
An epitome of an African Child I Exhibit
The crowd accompanied the rhythm of my fist with a chant
I can fly, I can fly, I can fly
A slogan of my campaign called fly
That seals success on whom it enchant
My grace baptised them in a stew of ecstasy
The life I envisaged was calling
And my past slowly falling
This event opened the tomb of my Legacy
