Spread Your Wings

Should I stay?

Should I go?

Does my family even know?

Of course they'll support me, stay with me,

but does that help determine where I'm going to be?

It's a scary place, college,

"It's the best time of your life" he said

"It's a place of experimentation, of fun" she said

The only thing they forget to mention is how daunting it really is

College is a way of life, a place to spread your wings and love and live

but that's a scary thing to do when you go without a safety net

no family, no friends, all the reason to fret.

Ultimately, it comes down to this

Life is full of twists, of turns, of loops and hoops

but the only way to experience it is to embrace it with open arms,

be free, be fearless

those are the only two secrets to experience how truly fulfilling and exhilarating life can be

when you just dare

to spread your wings.
