Spring and you

You were a kiss far and few between, the kind of kiss you see on screen, the kind you sit in cheap movie theater seats to watch You were like a motion picture in more ways than one each time I watched you I found a new detail to admire, a new reason to want to hit replay again and again Credits rolled with thickness off your tongue the words you spoke to me at dusk settled in my bones and sitting in your car laughing like we didn't have a care in the world felt like home Springtime has always been about beginnings but I never knew just how beautiful the things that bloomed at first sight of sunlight were until I woke up in your arms Something borrowed turned quick to something needed, someone... You were a new kind of summer time air I was kissing you so I could breathe again you gave the kind of butterflies that never really go away Catching a glimpse of your darting eyes stirred me up the way you stir sugar into coffee each time life became a little sweeter and my chest beat a little faster you were touching me with needy hands but never asked for anything but my company and little did you know it was your company that was saving me from myself I was sitting at breakfast thinking about your mouth and the way your smile curves and turns everything into sunshine I am tired of the dark, I am tired of shadows and I am tired of hurt, you are bright and lovely and you are turning me bright too
