Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Love

This is spring

When love is fresh from the womb

The flower and feeling

Going from a bud

To a full bloom

This is summer

When we stay up all night

Telling stories of our lives

And carving our love

Without any foresight

This is fall

And it’s time for harvest

As the leaves begin to change

So does the mood

But what is yet to come is the hardest

This is winter

And everything is dying

With hearts all cold and gray

And trees all bare and empty

It gets hard to keep on trying

This is love

And I don’t know what I’m doing

Or just how much longer I can last

But maybe, just maybe

If I wait a little longer

Spring will come

Bringing feelings anew
