Squared
Close your eyes and feel the light breeze touch your tips
The world is larger than my front door but
I refuse to watch as it slams its square in the gut
My body and words can change the future
I am not alone
in fact there are generations with enough will to forget the past
and predict our own new beginnings
They say I am nuts Purified crazy That I
have lost my senses and I must be a dreamer Well forget them
I know taking the step out my front door is scary
and I will want to hide for shelter
yet I can't because too many people need my hope
for this world They need someone to stand and say
it will all be okay
It will all be okay because I am here
with my door open
because I am here
and together we can make this world round again
We can get the door open even if it means prying it open
with a rusted old crowbar
The world is larger than my front door but
I know I am strong enough to help give hope
through my body and words
