The S.S Wormdahl
In seconds the tide,
Will be over this bow.
Knees I’m begging you please,
Don’t fail me now.
This storm has been brewing,
My heart is the ship.
I can’t tell by your eyes,
If you've lost your grip.
Are you flirting with your demons,
Are you playing again?
That game filled with losing,
Here I lift my pen.
And I’ll scribble your promises,
And your dreams write them down.
Will writing these words,
Make these things stick around?
It’s like flirting with the devil,
You risk your heart and your soul.
These waves are dragging you,
No matter how much I pull.
I knew for you, fighting
Would be a thing that would last.
I hoped an unfortunate weakness,
That would remain in your past.
But now I’m not sure,
Visions of clear pipes wrenching through,
My scarred little mind,
Please babe I love you.
I would take on this battle,
Leave my weapons at home.
But it’s your choice to fight,
And tread light where you roam.
I stand by you always,
Through every smile and fit.
You deserve a better life,
Let us help you quit.
Please put down the needles,
The pipes and the rest.
We know you can do it,
So let’s see your best.
Now look at me darling,
With unfaltering black eyes.
Please nod that you heed me,
That you realize.
And I know you understand,
What needs to be done.
You've accomplished this once,
This fight can be won.
