Stage Fright

Thump. Thump.

I stand in complete darkness

Thump. Thump.

Waiting for the curtains to creep open.

Thump. Thump.

Knees Shaking

Thump. Thump.

Heart pounding

Thump Thump

Need oxygen

Thump

Fear.

Eternal.

Endless.

Fear.

Thump Thump Thump

A hand touches mine

And I am met with a smile

Thump. Thump.

The stage lights up.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

Breathe.
