Stain

I watch the moon as it rises in the evening sky.

It's sad, how stars appear around it, like tear drops when you cry.

But it brings a smile to my face, to see the moon shine bright

The beauty, it brings, on a warm, mid summer night.

I start to wonder whether this is all but just a dream

But then something pierced the silence, the darkness, a scream.

I tried to find the source, but it came from all around

And then a light shown brightly, I looked in horror at the ground.

A girl, all dressed in white, lay down below

And from a knife wound on her chest, blood began to flow.

I tried to save her, best I could, my hands now stained with blood

Reality came in and swept away the dream world like a flood.

I sat up, shivering, glad that no girl was dead

I looked down at my hands, they were stained, a blood red.
