Stand Up
We judge books by their covers
And say screw relationships to just be lovers.
We brag about sex and other vulgarity
Like its a sport, do you want a trophy?
Losing your iPhone is more serious than your virginity.
Since when does a zero define real beauty?
But, you're too skinny, anorexia, belemia, you have a disorder.
Our society is falling, kids under 16 dealing with law and order.
Going to jail at such a young age, for stupid dares and I don't really care.
But that's the attitude, hashtag IDGAF,
you throw your head back with an ignorant laugh.
And down, down, down, society is falling.
We follow what's in style as if life depended on it, and well it kind of does, because kids get bullied: kicked, punched, hit.
Beautiful girls with scars on their wrists, they aren't strong enough as they hide behind their fists
of insecurities, anger, hatred, asking if they are loved.
How is love determined? By likes on Facebook and Instagram too, follow me on twitter, hashtag Honey Boo Boo.
"We started from the bottom, now we're here".
Look around, we're still there.
We block out the sounds of crying impoverished children, blasting high pitch frequency of today's music with lyrics of drugs and niggas, Girls without class, they shake their ass on MTV,
What happened to reality? Oh, there goes gravity.
Society, you're falling. Down. Down. Down.
You're farther at the bottom than when you started.
16 and pregnant is rewarded with a show and money.
We work our ass off in school, and we're looked at like we're funny.
We're aiming to graduate, to make life better, but our government is rewarding bad behavior.
The boy in the corner is crying, you call him a faggot behind his back and to his face. Little do you know, his dad beats him at his own place.
His home isn't safe, but we don't try to know, we judge because its easier to sink so low.
That's why we have kids smoking weed, everyday, the need to get high to escape this low place. Hashtag yolo.
Down down down, falling. Down. Down, down, crash. The sound of a car hitting a mother of 4, under the influence and under age. Her story ends, but we just turn the page.
You say you've got swag with your pants down low,
You look like an idiot.
Pick them up.
Raise your standards.
Raise your expectations.
Make smarter choices,
be better than this.
Society, stand up, stand up, stand up.
