Standards
I stand in the mirror
Bare face Bare skin
I over analyze every inch of my body
Hoping that my waist is small enough
My hips are wide enough
My thighs are big enough
My belly is flat enough
My chest is not too small but not too big
My shoulders aren’t too broad
My hands are dainty enough
I wear makeup and they say I look better without it
I don’t wear makeup and they say I look tired and sick
Look good but don’t look like a try hard
Show confidence to a world that only tears you down
Don’t let them see the swollen eyes from the tears you cry
Make them see a girl who doesn’t feel inadequate
Don't show them that their words hurt
That their standards hurt
