Standby

Run as fast as you can, but you never escape

Stick yourself together with only duct tape.

Hope it holds long enough

so nobody calls your bluff

Break down all alone, don’t answer the phone

Don’t care who's calling you now

You’ll make it through somehow

Spiral out of control, entering the black hole

Take away all of your feeling

These thoughts are so unappealing

You won’t miss them anyway

You never make any headway, talk in your own head space

But it’s the person in the mirror that you just can’t face

You’re tired of this run around, but you can’t stop letting yourself down

The real problem here is your ultimate fear

You can’t run away from who you are

Gotta face your own scars

But you’ll be damned if you don’t try

To put these feelings on standby
