Standing Up

Push me down again,

I dare you.

Shove my head down in the sand.

Make it so there is no air.

So that no words can be spoken.

What would be new?

You never wanted me to be free.

Why not take away that freedom,

Why not show me I’m less than you?

That’s what you love isn’t it?

Showing your stronger than me.

Showing that you’re better than me.

Hate to tell you something,

But you’re not.

No one is better than me.

Push me down again,

Still standing strong.

Shove my head down in the sand.

Make it so there is no air.

Holding my breath until you get tired.

You’re nothing to me,

You’re just a bully,

A tyrant.

I have the power;

I have the strength.

This is the last time;

You hurt me.

This is the last time;

You’ll see me,

Falling.

This the last time;

You’ll see me,

Holding my breath.
