Standing On The Ledge.

Her heart pounded in her chest.

Awaiting this day, she was unable to rest.

The stairs stood before her like Jericho's wall.

She never felt so insignificant, so small.

She was afraid.

Fear loomed over her shoulders.

Her feet felt as heavy as a set of boulders.

Fear wrapped his arms around her.

Her first step was a blur.

She was afraid.

Although the sky was grey, it was a new day.

Courage had wiped her fears away.

Her foot faltered as she stood on the ledge.

Only a small rope held her on the edge.

She was afraid.

She heaved a heavy sigh and leaped.

The rope above her zipped and beeped.

The wind raced through her hair.

She smiled as she flew through the air.

She was no longer afraid.
