Standing Up for Me

I can't let go of history Invested too much time to preserve it. So much pressure building up to the surface Afraid of unleasing just a little bit. Not grown enough, or so they think My opinions cast off to the side Overtalked and underappreciated without a care While my true character withers and dies. I bear and grin in silence Hoping someone hears my unspoken screams Is it too much to be treated with decency? While I act as a go-between? No more shall I be a puppet Dangling along helplessly as the world turns I'm taking a stand for the rest of my life Cause being downtrodden is not what I deserve!
