Stanzas of Emotion
strength
beauty
and love
are all topics that I adore
topics that I am drawn to
topics that have the full capacity to be expressed
through any kind of art
my choice of masterpiece is poetry
I can write lines
and lines
of my feelings
and my pain
I have learned how to turn my misery into bodies of oceans
and how to change the butterflies in my stomach to twisters
tearing through my safe haven
most importantly
I have learned to not take my downfalls out on myself
but to put them in the form of angry bold letters
or thoughtful italics
I scream and I roar through paper with words
as powerful as I want them to be
and then I let go
I exhale
and I rest
grateful that I can convey my emotions through art
without using a paintbrush
