A Star Is Born

Give my regards to Broadway

Is that goal within my reach?

Do I have what it takes to get there?

Is talent something they can teach?

How I long to see the footlights

I lust to hear the applause

I am blinded by the spotlight

But oh, for such a worthy cause

Acting, acting...wherefore art thou, acting?

'Tis in my blood it seems

I'll do what it takes, even scratch and claw

While my inner performer screams

I can go from meek and mild

To one worthy of an award

I can leave behind uncertainty

And by it all, I'll be absorbed

Ah, the acting bug has bitten

Train and study I will do

Go from audition to audition

And hope for a callback or two

My BFA and GPA will be a start

To get where I need to be

But how to get my foot in the door

At MGM or NBC?

I have family, I have friends

An endless array of support

But the thing that keeps me most driven

Is to have Oscar as a cohort
