Star Crossed

Science told me a little secret Inside each one of us Settled deep in our making Is a sprinkle of stardust A shard of stars long gone Some still saying goodbye So why waste my time making wishes On airplane specks of sky That carry away all wishful thought When I could wish on you, for you Become your star crossed lover Form a constellation for two Our own Major and Minor Enough to make Gemini jealous Love numbering greater Than the Corona Borealis So when I see starlight sparkles Off the color of your eye Know I will be making wishes On a star that has said goodbye
