Stardust

i call her 'stardust'

though she is everything but

she is not ephemeral and fleeting

she is strong and brave

she is a shelter

she is a warm meal

she is fresh, clear water

stardust is air

stardust is life

a map i will not need

she guides my way

a boat i will not need

she lets me walk on water

wings i will not need

her every

word

breath

look

lets me fly

but mostly i need stardust

because if i were to disappear forever

i would not want her to suffer through

thinking that i left
