stardust

they say

we're all made from stardust

built from atoms formed in a nebula

trillions of years ago

i think that perhaps

the atoms forming you

came from a cosmic wonder

a cluster of stars so magnificent

even a millennia later

the particles shine on

because i glance at your eyes

and see a thousand galaxies

where?

the sun is shining

but the light coming from you

outshines it entirely

i listen to your words

and hear the wisdom of the universe

condensed into a recount

of the time you caught a crow

the glances i catch from your peripheral vision

throw glimmers off in every direction

and my heart into a marathon

all the stardust in the universe

couldn't compare to you
