Stare
When you look into my eyes, what do you see?
Is it the pain or the beauty that's inside of me?
What about the anger that I've lived with all my life?
Do you hear it in every word that I speak?
Did you notice the broken heart in every song I sing?
What about when you held my hand?
Could you feel the heat from the last guy?
The one who promised to stay forever, but quickly left instead...
Or do you see the excitement on my face?
It's there because I've learned to grow from my past mistakes...
Because I swallowed my pride and took the first step to change.
All those bad days are behind me, and I'm prepared for the ones that lie ahead.
So, when you look into my eyes, what do you see?
Because all I see is beautiful ol' me
