Stargazer
Star light, star bright, such stars o'erhead tonight
to calm my mind, sedate my stress, relax
my racing head. Day full, yet something lacks
So much to do, so much been done, but might
I find fulfillment? No; there's small delight
completing lists--no feelings, only facts
and figures--but it all falls through the cracks
and I am left with naught. Then comes the night.
A step outside into the blesséd dark
Look up! Our Great Creator left his mark
Alone, I am alone, I can just be,
if only for a moment, I am free,
so free. I wish I may, I wish I might
remain to gaze this night, star light, star bright.
