Stars

It’s hard to know when it started The dusk turned darker and night crept in So quietly, so insidiously I never Saw it coming. Where did the stars go? The blankets of Light that started a journey of years Just to shine on me and for a brief moment I could see a mirror image of something Bright and beautiful and alive. The blackness, thickness suffocates Shrouds Hope, the Past And the me you would never recognize A super nova flashing, blinding Fading to nothing Meaningless celestial noise with just the appearance Of importance. Cross the river of time with me so I am not So alone here in my memories jumbled like Shattered bits of colored glass No longer a meaningful mosaic of dreams I entertained in my joyful imagination A true believer pounded in the mortar of existence, Mere powdery residue of the insignificant.
