Stars
Stars
Stars in the skies, but I can’t reach that high
I’m drunk for the hell of it
I’d miss you when you’re gone
But you’ve been gone so long
And I’m mad for the hell of it
It’s a dark dark night
Long ago dreams fight for their lives,
And they’re losing their ground
But still I manage to turn my frown upside down
This light in me that nobody can
See
Please good lord, do not leave
Me
Pick my head up off this cold hard ground
Stars in my eyes, but they’re going out
I’m High for the Sake of it
I’d love you no matter who you are
But you’ve loved me for so little too long
And I’m sad for the loss of it
It’s a bright bright morning
And the sun hurts these fragile eyes
And they’re losing their strength to even survive
But I still manage to turn my frown upside down
This light in me that everyone can
See
Thank you Good Lord for not leaving
Me
And Picking my head up off this cold hard ground
