The Stars of Love
To me, a healthy relationship is a starry night. The stars represent the love within a relationship. Stars are much like relationships because they both offer us brightness during dark and lonely times. We value stars because they are beautiful, and a healthy relationship where love exists between two people is beautiful. There are stars all around us, even if they seem distant. We find love in unusual places with people we wouldn’t expect. Stars become familiar to us, and can be taken for granted. It is important to remember that we should treasure the stars, much like we should treasure our loved ones.
Genuine love within a healthy relationship is like a star because we always know it’s there. We can always trust that it will remain and we can always depend on it to be there for us. Even during hard times, when clouds of anger or hurt cover the stars, we still know that they are there for us. When people in healthy relationships fight or have a disagreement, they don’t let it tear them apart. They still know that there is love between them. They remember that they love the other person, even if they are angry. Love is a constant in a healthy relationship.
Unfortunately, not everyone has a healthy relationship to call their own. Some people create unhealthy relationships with toxic people, who use love as leverage to achieve their own personal goals. These unhealthy relationships can be draining, damaging, and painful to those involved. Unhealthy relationships are like black holes; stars that once shined bright but have died. Even if they are no longer beautiful, they still remain. They suck the life out of everything that surrounds them. No light comes from a black hole, only darkness. No joy comes from an unhealthy relationship, only pain.
I have seen both healthy, and unhealthy relationships and learned that both have important lessons to teach. Unhealthy relationships taught me how not to treat the people who are important to me, and to know how I should be treated. The healthy relationships that I’ve maintained have taught me that without loved ones, life would be boring and lonely. That’s why I would recommend to anyone and everyone to search for the stars in their life, and hold them close to their heart.
