A STARS WAR

I hear thy voice and am at rest, my pet.
Thy love doth better moments guarantee,
By thought of thee my problems I forget.
Love, like a noble Jedi, doth not stray,
Love whispers songs of romance to the heart,
Love puts one’s sighs and longings on display,
Love is the painter; lovers are the art.
Yon Tatooine shall furnish love’s cuisine
There meet the call of passion at our best.
Our ardor is uncommon—ne’er routine—
My love for thee hath ev’ry day progress’d.
Though false friends try me with untrue veneer,
The Force is strong when lovers are sincere.
