You didn’t do everything perfect

You had your all too human flaws

You were faced with one obstacle after another

And you kept choosing to persevere

Failure could never keep you down

You knew fear, but wouldn’t let it stop you

You crossed an ocean to get here

Then travelled across the country

With two shy kids behind your legs

You found the strength to forge ahead

When all you had was us

You made something out of nothing

I never missed a meal

Sometimes you did so I wouldn’t

You sacrificed again and again

Now we have arrived at the end of the journey

A thanks couldn’t repay you
