The Start of Today, The End of a Nation

A culture founded from oppression,

A place so called the land of the free.

A place where misogyny is allowed to rule,

Racism can make our decisions.

Blood shed is nothing but spilled milk,

Fear is something that we have grown accustomed to.

A country founded from hate,

That still tries to assimilate.

When will you suit their idea of perfect citizen? Prefect patriot? Perfect American?

Land of depression,

Where suicides are a causal affair.

Freedom of religion,

As long as you block out the hate.

Place of equality,

Where marriage had to be fought for.

All people have equal and inalienable rights,

But they have to fight for them.

You shouldn't wake up and feel sick when you find out the results of the presidency.

You shouldn't say goodbye to friends and family,

You don't know if today is the last day you'll see.

Because you woke up on the day the world starts to end.
