Starting at 5..

Not feeling good for hours and hours,

Geting sick and more sick,

Going to the hospital,

I still remember the exact words,

"You are diabetic."

"What does that mean?"

It means shot after shot everyday,

Never getting to eat what other kids eat,

Always having to check my blood sugar before I eat,

It's a hassle,

Going to the doctor every three months,

But it's something I have to live with,

For the rest of my life,

Until a cure is found,

I hope the cure is found in my life time.

i'm diabetic too... i like the way you express the helplessness of it. Like, you can't do anything but listen to the doctor. I was diagnosed almost four years ago and it completely changed my life. It's nice to know other people are out there going through a lot of the same stuff I am.
