STARTING TO SINK IN
Oh I feel so empty
Alone on this dreadful night
My last ounce of energy
I conjure up to fight
The tears that keep on flowing
For the cruelty I forsake
Once again, I've been walked upon
All your love for me was fake
For all the times I tried to leave
Yet you would't set me free
And all the pain upon your face
Caused a heartache inside of me
As much as I wanted out
I couldn't hurt you so
And every step taken toward the door
Just wouldn't let me go
I forgave you oh so many times
I felt this was only right
And took you back into my arms
And held you through the night
For all the promised treasures
From both our broken hearts
Some part of me still loved you
And this kept us from being apart
Over and over and over again
Until that one last time
When I couldn't hold you anymore
For loving you was a crime
But I never let our bond subside
I was always there for you
And now its my turn to need you here
To help me see this through
There's not too many people
Who knows my soul inside
For this is something private
It's something I do hide
And now my life is sinking
And I'm scared and all alone
And you have turned your back on me
For reasons still unknown
Not only is this ridiculous
For I am causing you no harm
Yet you have made this out to be
A reason for alarm
You know what you are doing
Is unjust and unfair
But you have a new love by your side
To help convince you that you don't care
Whatever has been said to date
Your cruelty is totally wrong
I'm not doing anything
That shouldn't have been expected all along
Did you think that you could terrorize me
And jeopardize my life
And cause so many problems
So much confusion and strife
Then when at last my time comes
When the tables have been turned
When I need your support and friendship
Do you think I should get burned?
I can't believe how selfish
Your character can be
When you were busy take, take, taking
Did you ever think of me?
The thing I forgot before
Is resurfacing again
And all the things that I forgave
Are just starting to sink in
