I am the epitome of a starving artist
I read poems under the light of the moon
and I guess you can say I want everything a little too soon

My colors flow from my brush, from my pen
Not necesarily always in a straight line
Either way I'm always on cloud nine

I consider even my best work to be flawed
I balance between perfection and procrastination
My ultimate goal is to master the art of manifestation

And now, that's all well and good
But there's always a ball and chain around my ankles
I'm shackled and tied down, the only source of light being old candles

But forget that, I'm going to follow my dreams
I'll venture out into uncharted seas
You know that ocean's laid out for me
I'll make you believe in me
I'll make you proud of me
And yeah, I firmly believe that I'm captain of my own destiny

I am the epitome of a starving artist
I read poems under the light of the moon
I'll make my art and do my thing, I'll be taking my shot real soon
