The State of Being Secured

You slapped me for a year, I endured.

You kicked me for another, I matured.

You abused me for the last time; I became inured

why "last time" you ask? Why look over there,

In that coffin I was laid, buried deep away from your abuse,

for I am now totally...secured.

I enjoy writing poems. It gives me a sense of peace and provides me with a mean to express myself in ways that I could have never imagined myself doing.
