States apart

It was him

my first of everything.

The kiss of life

the date to begin all dates

the boy I bring him to my mom.

Because he loves me

we shared songs

dreams

goals and

pain

We were each others go to for

laughs and

cries

Because he loves me

I decided to love him back

by lying vulnerable and

letting him love me more.

This,

however, is not a regret.

My regret was letting you know me.

The sad me

The mad me

The glad me

The bad me

and the sometimes rad me.

Because since you loved me

you wanted to leave me

and explore your world

which i wasn't apart of.

Because you loved me

you couldn't hurt me when you were

lying with another

holding another

and wanting another

Because you loved me

you wanted the same for me

for someone to see

what you said you were honored to love

Here I am states apart

my heart

still beating to the rhythm of our love

Because you loved me

you wanted freedom

to discover who you were

I didn't need that

I know who I am

And so, Because I love you

I let you.
