Statue Girl

She was made of the strongest materials,

The world has ever seen,

Leaving most to  conclude,

She was stone all the way through,

Little did they know the world had sculpted her,

Of the pain that grew,

Nobody came to realize what was actually true,

That the statue girl may appear set in place,

But in all actuality, it was just a carefully crafted mask,

That eliminated every trace,

Of the girl that was once upon time,

Because life said fairytales where for children,

And that was all the girl had ever known,

Of Imagination and hope,

But now she was left without a clue,

The life she had once known,

Became all black and blue,

Because she was taught that the world was cold,

And the only way to survive was to do away with the old,

To realize that love was all just a myth,

And like any story would fade,

Off of the pages each and every time,

With each and every passing day,

This world she now knew wasn’t worth the trade,

She let fear control her,

Like a puppet on a string,

So no longer did she get to make the moves,

She was left dangling,

No longer knowing what to do,

Not knowing how to remove earth's hold,

The statute girl began to take mold,

In place, she stands,

Frozen in time,

Like a game of freeze tag gone wrong,

Where no one came along,

To see,

That statute girl was really just a fear-frozen,

Treated Invisible, broken,

Human being.

<p>This is a poem about being in a dark place when the world and what society tells you makes you feel like you have to be a certain way. It is also about feeling alone and like you can&#39;t break those invisible&nbsp;chains holding you down.</p>
