Those all out fights with tears and cruel words threaten to end a relationship. You just know in your heart that it’s going to be the last straw for the other person. Those daunting nights you sit in your bed wide-awake while tears trickle down your cheeks, speak the words you cannot. You feel more alone than ever, there is no one to turn to, no one who will understand. The one who is responsible for your happiness now is the reason for your tears. It’s just you and your worst enemy, your thoughts. You over think and overanalyze every single word spoken. Could it really be over? After everything we’ve been through is this the end? You wonder what they are doing, are they as upset as you? Or are they out with their friends forgetting the whole thing as you sit there pitifully destroyed by this fight. You want to apologize, it may not be you’re fault but you hate knowing they are mad at you. You are ready to beg for forgiveness and ask them to stay. You call them, your heart beating faster and faster with every ring. They pick up and you fall to pieces. You rattle off words as they stir into a storm of emotions. You tell them how much you love them and how sorry you are. You explain how they’ve changed your life for the better, and there is no one like them. You tell them you can’t imagine being without them because through everything they have been there for you. You fall weak to the horrifying silence that hangs in the air. They finally speak, all your worries relinquished when they tell you, they aren’t going anywhere and are here to stay.
