Stay

Nobody ever stays,

I watch backs upon backs as they walk away.

I'm well acquainted with sweet abandon,

rest assured lonely knows my name.

I recall a silent screaming heart on nights when I can't sleep,

I've surmised from all my cries that surely I was never seen.

People gravitate,

towards life's hollow attractive distractions.

It's so much easier to be led astray,

Why...would they ever stay?
