Stay

Your words, they echo in my ear,

The words, so harsh and strong,

They seem to be all I can hear,

They make me feel so wrong.

Your hands are pointing at the door,

And you're telling me to go,

You ask me what I'm waiting for,

I answer simply, "No."

It takes all my strength to stand and watch,

As your eyes fill with tears,

I hope you know I understand,

I hope I'm being clear.

For, even through the darkest night,

Through each and every day,

Even through each awful fight,

Because I love you, I will stay.
