Stay and Go

We often try so hard
For things to remain the same
Like a secret moment created just for you
Frozen in time
A memory we constantly return to
Taking comfort like a warm blanket
Meanwhile a blizzard outside attacks your window pane.
Other times we desire change
Yet, only to return to something
A feeling, idea, or desire
That we once felt deep inside.
No matter how hard we try, seasons will vary
Sometimes the tiniest seed
Buried beneath layers of snow
Will go years without sprouting
Until that one special day
When it too desires to return to something it once knew
