Stay Strong” they tell you
but they don’t seem to understand.
You stayed strong for as long as you could
And now you’re letting go

It’s like when we’re little kids
Playing in the jungle gym
Swinging on the monkey bars
Going from one another
Holding on for as long as we can.

But what happens when you can’t hold on much longer?
You start to lose your grip
Palms are sweating
Putting in all your force
Just one more bar
And then you’re done
But before you reach that last one
You fall to the ground

“Stay strong you’re almost done”
If only it was that easy
Holding on by just one hand
My palms are slowly sliding
There’s no more energy in me
To keep and trying to stand strong
I’m sorry I keep trying
But this journey is so long

I rather let myself go now
And fall into dispair
Instead of holding on much longer
When there’s obviously no hope
I kept on fighting for to long
But this time I’m just done.
